Friday Fill-In!

1. I'm praying, I'm looking, I am still not finding the house we want (and can have).

2. Why do I have ditziness and not the memory capacity I used to?

3. How does this silly government work anyway?

4. Every morning, I put clothes on my naked booty.

5. I consider myself lucky because I have a loving family (mom, dad, siblings, cousins, etc.) and a fantastically wonderful little tribe (Stu and Ryn).

6. One day we’ll see bionic body parts.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a fifteen minute in home walking mile (So, I had pie, okay?!?!), using my new Knit Picks Harmony Options needles and designing That Baby's March themed coaster, tomorrow my plans include going with Stu to the eye Doc for new glasses, looking at a condo clubhouse with mom, dad and Stu for the wedding, maybe looking for a house to rent and going on a secret date with my honey-pie (you'll find out soon enough, it's a surprise) and Sunday, I want to Bake something and take a three hour nap!

Friday Fill-In!

1. Give me a nice house for cheap and I'll send you a fruit basket.

2. Whenever I think of my future plans to marry Stu, move into a house and start a family (or add to our exsisting one, really), I feel happier than I can ever remember being.

3. I wish we could find a house to rent that is exactly what I'm always admiring but still in our price range.

4. A smoked turkey salad from Red Butte Cafe was the last thing I ate that was utterly delicious.

5. To live in this world is to learn to make lemonade from lemons.

6. Other than this one, Gloria's (?) is the last blog I commented on.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having a cuddle with Stu, it's been a long week, tomorrow my plans include looking for a house to rent(!!!) and Sunday, I want to relax!

There's Chocolate Cake... EVERYWHERE!

Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake
Mom and I had a movie night Tuesday. I made Chocolate Mug Cake with melted peanut butter chips and we watched Auntie Mame.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chocolate Coffee Mug Cake
(Ryn e-mailed me this recipe as a chain or forwarded e-mail. It's one of the few chain e-mails that I've been glad to get.)
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using)
and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
[I like to check it with a toothpick, like you would a normal cake.]
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT!
Friends Blanket
I would LOVE to make this afghan often seen in Rachel & Monica's apartment! I hope to replicate it from these (and maybe other) photos of my TV.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stu and I got a couple's massage and went to lunch at Red Butte Cafe for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day
I had the smoked turkey salad, it has bacon, corn salsa, avacado, tomato and lots of dark greens. Mmm!

Valentine's Day
We then went to Bath and Body Works where I was gonna buy some stuff, but Stu ended up paying for it all as a Valentine's gift.

Pictured from top: Vanilla Noir Body Spray, Vanilla Noir Body Cream, Midnight Pomegranite Body Wash (Stu suprised me with that one, I though he was getting it for him, haha!), behind the body wash is a purse size Butterfly Flower Body Lotion new for spring, can't wait 'til the full line for that scent is out... I gotta have it!

Sunday, Stu and I talked to another Bishop for our wedding. We'll be talking that over soon.

Shopping Spree
After talking with the Bishop on Sunday, Stu, Ryn and I went shopping. Stu and I each got some spending money from our tax refund and I used some of it to buy this stuff. We had so much fun shopping together. I bought a Paramore CD and the Twilight soundtrack for Ryn. We had lunch at Sconecutter too!

Clockwise from top left: Three's Company Season 4 on DVD, Beetlejuice DVD, Over The Hedge DVD, red hair dye (my last one faded after just a week!), Finger Paints nail polishes, one of those new fangled extension mascaras (we'll see), Nail Magic (I swear by this stuff!) and an Earth, Wind & Fire hits CD.

Movie Night
Ryn and I then watched my new movies in Stu and I's room and had some chocolate coffee mug cake with butterscotch chips.

Movie Night
We both eventually feel asleep with the TV on. Good thing I didn't work today.

No, needlework news this week, sorry kids.

Friday Fill-In!

1. It seems like things are getting better.

2. Close the door when you're done, please?

3. If I thought you were down I'd want to give you a hug!

4. "I love spending time with you." is what I think of most when I think of you.

5. To me, Valentine's Day means spending quality time with anyone you love, but mainly your love.

6. Positive encouragement gives me strength.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going home and doing nothing, tomorrow my plans include getting a couple's massage with my honey and Sunday, I want to maybe bake... I haven't for a while.!

Long Story, Little Punchline

Okay, so at dinner tonight, Stu and I were doing our little thing where one of us does a line from the song Oh Yeah by Yello and the other does the next one...

Me: Chick-a-chick-a
Him: Bow-bow

You know that song, right?

So, Stu and I then mentioned what each of us thinks about when we hear that song. He said that for him it was Ferris Bueller's Day Off when the Porsche flies out the window. I said that I always think about the 80's movie She's Out Of Control with Tony Danza, the scene where she's running in slow motion down the beach in a swimsuit.

Well, somehow we got into some debate over the two and someone said something about Stu wanting a Porsche and when Stu tried to correct this and says, "No, I don't want a Porsche.", Ryn pipes up with,

"You just want a Porsche running down the beach in a swimsuit."

We just about peed laughing.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

My Stu and I (02/18/07)
[Our first photo together. February 19, 2007]

Stu and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary! I am so lucky to be able to find a guy who can be my best friend and my life partner. Stu is the most passionate, loving and dedicated man I could ever hope to have as a friend and I'm just lucky enough that he picked me to be more. It has been the most awesome two years!

I wanted to share a memory of our time together. It's not anything epic or even romantic, but it always sticks out in my mind. There was a night recently where we went to the grocery store together and we goofed off and laughed. I felt like I was in high school again, hanging out with a best friend. It was so rad!

I love you, honey!!! Thank you for being my everything!

Paper Roses
I made a dozen roses from paper for Stu on our 2 year anniversary. I'm pretty broke right now. He loved them though.

These were so frustrating when I first started practicing making them that I almost gave up. But, I persisted over a week or two and eventually got really good at it, I think. I hope you think so too. =) I've also made a yellow one for Ryn, a purple for my friend Christy and a flourescent pink one with a flourescent green stem and leaves for my mom (it's the only kinda paper that was available but it turned out cute). I have a feeling I'm not done making them either... they're really fun!

Have a great (rest of the) weekend!
