Mama Love Mitts
Clocks
by Coldplay
on Youtube
Just finished knitting these fingerless gloves for my sister, Brandi. She saw the ones that I knit my mom (http://www.flickr.com/photos/yarnpixie/6815219327/in/photostream/) and asked for some as her hands get cold at work, but she needs her fingers to type. These are based on the Baby Love Mitts, I designed for my baby. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/yarnpixie/6887589297/in/photostream/) If you can't tell, they're a plum purple. This isn't very good lightining.

Makin' Stuff
Last night, I made this draped vest from an extra large t-shirt! No sewing required! If you know how to use scissors, you can make this. Seriously, it's that easy. Thrift store with extra large t-shirts, here I come!!! Thanks to my friend, Michelle, for sharing a different t-shirt vest she made from the same website, I came across the tutorial here: wobisobi.blogspot.com/2012/01/re-style54-five-minute-drap...
I wore this outfit on mine and hubby's date today... plus a long silver necklace... Little Miss was playing with it when I took this picture. Don't worry, it's just plastic costume jewelry.
I also wore these! I crocheted these spats for my ankle boots today in a matter of about 20 minutes once I figured out how I was going to make them.

Baby Love
I just finished these fingerless mitts for Little Miss today. I wrote a pattern too and plan to put it in my Etsy shop. I'd also like to do an adult version that's similar, but not an exact replica. I love how the gradual color variation of the Red Heart Kids yarn (color = Bikini) looks!
Also, Stu was telling a lady he works with about the cake I made him for Valentine's Day. He had me text him some pics to show her and she might pay me to make a cake for her boyfriend's mom's birthday coming up! That'd be cool, huh? Hubby was all, "New career?" LOL. Maybe. We'll see.

Valentine's Day!
I knit these cute little kitties for my girls for Valentine's Day. Little Miss loves them. I was making the black one for Teen Miss first and Little Miss stole it from me as soon as it had a face, but no limbs. She walked around kissing the crap out of it and exclaming, "Kitty!" She was going to get a dolly from the same pattern, but her kiss fest told me she needed a kitty too.
The Valentine's Day spread. My gifts to hubby and the girls.
I made Hubby a strawberry lemonade bundt cake for his Valentine gift. It's even got a handmade paper bow!
I made these construction paper gift bags to put my girls' knit kitties in.
Stu gave me this Pandora bracelet for Valentine's Day along with a box of chocolates and a cute heart jewelry box to keep my bracelet stuff in. It has a pink hearts bead and a dangle charm with each of the girls' birthstone. They have a whole brochure of beads, charms and connectors so you can build your own bracelet! We will be adding more things over the years! =)
Stu and I had dinner at Sizzler. I love their steak! I had the steak and lobster. I'd never had lobster before. It was okay.
I got a Gelish gel polish kit, one colored polish and a mini uv light with some of the tax return money. I just put it on today and I love it so far! I just hope it lasts a long time. I'm so tired of painting my nails just to have them chipping the next day... and I've tried everything.

Yay For Babies... And Monkeys.
I picked up this reusable pastry bag and piping tips for a total of $6 at Walmart.
And I made this with those tools! It's a gluten free chocolate cake with pudding in the mix, strawberry frosting. I used canned frosting and just added powdered sugar to stiffen it a bit so it would hold it's piped shape. My freind Sarah from knit meeting is expecting her 4th baby in two weeks. We threw her a baby shower at the knit meeting today. My inspiration for the cake came from Nothing Bundt Cakes. I was really pleased with how it turned out and it was a hit! Everyone had seconds (including me) but one person. I plan to make more cakes like this in the future!
Here's the card I made for it. I even bought some jewelry wire to make the cake poke that it's resting in.
Every baby needs a sock monkey and I knit this one for Sarah's little expected angel, Amy.
I totally forgot to get wrapping paper for Sarah's baby shower gift. So, I wrapped it in a receiving blanket I had and made a chenille yarn bow.
