Tails, Sprouts & Bread

IMG_4125
So, I started crocheting Morgana's mermaid tail last night. Used up the whole ball of yarn that I got in one night. Now I have to wait until Sunday to get another ball. Booooooo! I'm so excited to make it that waiting is going to be hard.

Here's some more sprouts from our garden. I think-- I think these are the cucumbers... and not weeds... I hope. They don't look like any of the other weed sprouts coming back up. We planted mint today.

Made banana bread today.............. That's all I have to say about that......... Oh, and that it's delicious, as always.

Untitled
I forgot to post this picture on Sunday. This is Midnight Blue and Nail Junkie, both by Sinful Colors. GGMa bought them for me when we visited her in St. George. I love them!

I also washed a big box of clothes for Mo that my sister got rid of from her kids. Thank goodness! I'm running out of shirts that fit over Mo's head and cover her belly completely! Luckily, her long pants that she's outgrown can now be capris. She's gotten taller and her head has grown, but all her bottoms still fit her waist and most of her shirts still fit her arms.

Morgana went potty mid-day, so she got to wear her big girl panties for the 15 minutes. She even told me that she had to go potty while wearing them, so we rushed to the potty and she went again! So proud! She went potty again after dinner and asked to wear her big girl panties again. I told her it was okay with me, but she had to ask Daddy. (The deal was anytime she went potty before dinner, she could wear them.) Stu said it was okay, so she wore her big girl panties while we played Go Fish, no accidents.

Stu and I also talked about going to Comi-Con here in Salt Lake City. What days we'd like to go, how to work it out, about taking Morgana along. Jonathan Frakes is going to be there. He played Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I would really like to meet him. I LOVED that series in High School! Also, you may or may not know that Stu and I have been watching all of the Star Trek series and movies together for several years. We're watching Enterprise now.

I did some typing on GGMa's journals and tried to catch up on folding laundry.

Tonight, I'd like to finish that folding, knit and watch some Angel.

Backyard Fun

Little Miss and I have never gone into the back yard since we moved here. Today we ventured out to the great beyond and had a blast!

This tiny slug in our yard was only about as long as a dime is wide! So cute!

Smelling a flower... with her tongue.

"Kitty!"
We made a new friend when he visited our yard. Morgana followed him around everywhere until he finally settled under a small tree and Mo would have pet him all day if I had let her.

She Likes It!

Homemade Mei Tai = Happy Baby
She likes it! I'm so glad. She was not pleased with all the other contraptions (wraps and carriers) I've tried to do back carries with in the past. Her legs actually fall below the leg padding I put in, but she didn't indicate that she was uncomfortable at all, so I think it's fine. This is, by far, the most comfy back carrier I've ever tried. I used the FrankenKozy pattern. www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/FrankenKozy.htm

Happy Easter!

Went to Tracy Aviary for Easter today. We then walked around Liberty Park so the baby could run free for a bit on the grass. We found a drummer, danced a little and gathered lots of pine cones (which she's holding) and filled one of the stroller saddle bags with them. It's hard to see, but at the beginning, once she tilts her head, she's bouncing just a tiny bit to dance.

Play Time

Took some pictures of Mo playing in our bright and sunny dining room today while I folded laundry. It's times like these I'm actually glad we don't have a dining room table. What great photos.

Ball Play Time
Clickable for bigger view.
I love how the photo is implying that playing (touching the ball) will open up a whole new and colorful world for her.

You can see the rest by clicking the thumbnails to the right here.

I hope you all have a peaceful and relaxing night. I know I am.

Boobie Hat

Boobie Hat
As a breastfeeding advocate, I felt obligated to make one of these for Little Miss before she's weaned. It's meant to be worn while nursing so that it looks like you're flashing boob. Haha! Love it!

Going Bananas

Kate's_Hat.jpg
A little while ago, Kate asked me to teach her crochet again and then she made this hat!!! I'm so proud and so glad she asked me to teach her again. She even taught herself how to read patterns and do different stitches other than single crochet from the internet. She says she likes crochet better than knit. So, again, I'm glad she asked me to teach her again.

My day today:

Photo535.jpg
The girls had a wrestling match.

My Homemade Frosting
I made homemade frosting for some banana cupcakes. I keep buying bananas and not eating them since I stopped working. We've got banana everything in the fridge now.

Lids Are Fun
Morgana helped make cupcakes by playing with a pickle jar lid. She also had two Goober lids.

Crashed
Then, she passed out after all the cupcake baking... Because helping bake cupcakes by banging jar lids together is hard work.

Patchwork Baby
So, I got some knitting on her blanket done. This is color 4 of 9. Each color needs ten squares.

Banana Cupcakes
Here's the cupcakes. The frosting was really super sweet. If anyone has a good buttercream recipe, please let me know.

Watching Rio
Then, Morgana and I watched Rio.

From Sheet...
And, I made a curtain out of a sheet to close off our master bath from our bedroom as there is only a wall between the two and a sort of hallway connecting them. I want to make one for our closet too. I have a brown sheet in mind for that.

And that was all just in the evening after dinner!

Picking Cherries

Picking Cherries
Morgana and I escaped the heat of the house today by sitting on the porch during some cool rain. (We don't have a/c.) On a whim, Kate and I started picking cherries from the tree in our front yard when the rain had slowed to a drizzle. Morgana joined in the fun too.

Busy, Period.

We went to the MS Walk last week. Well, Ryn and I did. Stu was sick and couldn't go. But, we raised $160 between the two of us.

Other than that, not much going on. Well, besides worrying if there's going to be enough to do at work until we get another wave of busy. They've had to send our team home early this week and scramble for things for us to do. Hopefully they don't have to let anyone go and we get busy again soon. See, I'm doing something different now than what I was hired to do and I love it.

Other than that, just knitting away. I'm almost done with Stu's robe... so close. Then it's on to more baby stuff for other people having babies right now.

Pink Yarn
Michelle gave me this yarn at our last night meeting, yay! It's pink!

Until next time!

It's So Quiet

Now Playing:
Revelations

on hulu.com

There isn't a whole lot going on lately... except Stu had an interview with PC Laptops... and then a second interview... and then he didn't get it. We were so bummed. =( Please wish him luck in any future job hunting. He's graduating soon and will be looking full time very soon.

I've done lots of Konadicures lately. Just wish I could find a way to make them last longer than a couple days, especially cosidering that some designs are time consuming. I've been looking for Nailene Acrylic Strong topcoat, I think that's the name. I saw it on the Nails by Asami blog, she loves it. But, I haven't found it yet.

A peek at some of my recent Konadicures...

My Nails

My Nails
Silver tips with aqua Konad flowers.

My Nails
I ordered some new Konad plates with birthday money from my grandpa. I got classic french plates (which I did not use here, they're too short) a french plate with lots of different designs (like this bow). I also got a plate with several different animals on it... including this cow on my married finger. I got this plate just for the cow on it... for Stu. (Don't pay any attention to my dry cuticles. >.< )

My Nails
So, I broke the same nail, twice in one day! Soooo, I cut my nails. But, they still look so cute with these white tips with black Konad checker print, which is also on one of my new french plates.

I Heart Aloe
Just a funny... cool, thing. I use Aloe Vera gel as a facial moisturizer and when I squeezed it out of the bottle one morning... it was a heart!

Just Me
Just me. I took some new pics... for fun.

In needlework news...

Flower Medicine Cabinet Knobs
The only news I have is that I crocheted these flower knob pulls for our bathroom medicine cabinet. I got tired of the mirror supports falling out that I substituted for the ones that didn't exsist when we moved in. Maybe I'll write a pattern!

Well, I have more laundry to fold and more crocheting to do before the night is over.

Until next time...
