I did my own acrylic nails, but I really hurt several of my fingers while filing. Often you don't see just how much damage you've done until it's too late. I hate new files.



We walked to the library yesterday with Momeen (Snowman). When we got off the elevator to the children's level, she saw the fish painted on the back window and took off running and screeching, "FIIIIISHHHHYYYYYYYYY!!!" Hard to explain to a one year old that you should be quiet in a library... I will keep teaching her though.


Mo wanted to play in the water feature just outside the children's floor at the city library. But, everytime she got close it splattered her with drops of water and she ran. Heehee.


Today, my love bug got to wear her summer halter dress. She's my world. I can't believe how adorable and precious she is!


Made my sweet hubby some beer pretzel caramels for Father's Day tomorrow! So excited! The first batch was a disaster, but we'll use it as a caramel sauce. I picked up some vanilla ice cream for it.

I promist that I am knitting and crocheting... I just have castonitis again and I'm not finishing anything. I've recently started a bunch of freezer pop socks for my sister and one of my friends. I've also recently started some nana slippers for Mo, but they are modified to be a bit more modern knee highs that can be folded down for cuffs. Nana slippers are just rectangles knitted or crocheted and sewn up to look like this. I'm sure almost all of you have gotten a pair of these from your Grandma (or Nana) for at least one Christmas. I know I did for more than one (and I actually liked them!)

Well, I'm off to cut that caramel into squares and then hit the hay! Happy Father's Day tomorrow!

Since we got the air conditioning fixed, Kate likes to wear more cozy clothes... and cuddle her baby sister in them with her, lol.


Started color 6 of 10 last night on Morgana's blanket. This is my progress as of this morning. And, there's my instant (because no one else drinks decaf) decaf (due to nursing) with almond toffee creamer, mmmmm.


We got Morgana a play yard and she loves it.

...Okay, she really, REALLY loves it...

Hello!!! Okay, here's what I've been up to...


We went to the State Fair the weekend before last and had a blast! Here's the baby sweater I entered. It got honorable mention in the advanced category. We even ran into my Matron of Honor, Christy, who I worked with at the insurance agency. We were so happy to see each other. She lives far away so we really don't hang out. She even got to feel Morgana kicking. That was exciting!


Stu and Ryn shared frog legs, 'gater on a stick and crawfish with fries for lunch.

Stu and I also went on a date last Saturday. The first date we've had in a long time! It's so nice to have a little extra money to do that now that we're both working. We went to the movie Devil (thumbs up!) and ate at Cafe Rio, then came home and had coffee. We wanted to go out for coffee and dessert, but we had already had chocolate flan (first time flan for us both, yum!) at Cafe Rio. So, we just did coffee at home and watched Surrogates on Netflix. That was a good one too.

Stu and I also went to a college interview yesterday for Stu to get his masters in psychology. I know, I know, you're like, "What? He went to school for video games, didn't he?!?!" Yes, he did. But, he's discovering that it's really hard to find a job in that field and that he's not really into working in that market, no matter how much he loves gaming. He has always been interested in psychology and feels he may have jumped the gun in the decision to go the gaming direction. But, the good news is that he doesn't have to get a new bachelors in this field since he already has one. Bonus! Good luck, honey!


I'm also still growing a baby. It's coming along very nicely. Here I am at 24 weeks(6 months). Not the best pic of me. =/

Speaking of baby... In this cornaaaaaaaaaaa.... Rowdy Rowdy Baby Morgana!!!


It's a little hard to see, but she's kicking just under the top right flower (of the shot) on my dress.

I can't stop casting on projects!!! I'm a bad girl.


And here's the sock monkey I've decided will be for Morgana. I'm writing my own pattern and am pretty please with how it's going so far! I know, it's a little disturbing to see just monkey butt and legs... but this will change soon. I work on this one on Sundays. (Except for today. I will be working on the following today as I just started it last night and am excited about it...)


I know I said I wanted to do that sock monkey blanket for the baby, and I still do, but I decided I wanna do this one first.

It will look very close to this (the pattern pic)...


The design and colors of this quilt like pattern remind me of a amazingly similar quilt made from jersey material that I had when I was a child. I used that blanket until it was thread-bare and the squares were falling away from the blanket. I would love for my baby girl to have something reminiscent of my childhood… even if she never can see the quilt I had as it’s now long gone.

Sissy, if you're reading this, don't worry, I'm doing your baby's blanket exclusively during the week. Sometimes I just need to break it up and do a couple things at once, lol.

Preparing For The Ride Of My Life

As you may or may not know, we are now expecting a little Pixie-Kow. (I'm the pixie as Yarn Pixie and Stu is the cow as Deekow, one of his game characters.)


Well, here I am 6 weeks pregnant (with no make-up, ick.). I'm not actually showing yet, that's the bit of belly I've had before getting pregnant. My first OB appointment will be just after 8 weeks. I hope to take a picture every four weeks: 4,8,12,16, etc. Unfortunately I didn't think about until 6 weeks, so this is where it will start. Which is really okay, I look the same.

I also had just cut about three scragily, thin inches off my own hair to get off all the damage. Stu is now calling me a haircutter (like you would call one a murderer) and a hair freak and telling me, "You look like a boy!" Of course he doesn't mean any of this, but it's quite upsetting for him when I cut ANY of my hair, but he's trying to understand that if hair is going to grow long and healthy, it needs to start healthy... no split ends.

So, in expectance of this Pixie-Kow, I've now started this...


I can't stay away from it, it's exciting! I did it in colors that would suit a boy or a girl, since we don't know what it is yet.


I've already had this blanket done for a future baby, which Stu bought the yarn and gave to me as a birthday gift with the intention of my making a blanket for our first baby.

So, I figured it was my turn to pick colors and crocheted this current one, since the first was knit.

Plus, my mom's sweater has been frustrating me. Apparantly I can't read the sweater pattern very well because I've ripped out sections several times now and just recently ripped the whole front out to start it over.


Ashley and Danika visited us Friday night while Stu went out for drinks with Justin and some others. We watched Food Network, Friends, danced to Lady Gaga and had ice cream. It was a fun night.

In our continuing quest to watch all things Star Trek, we watched Star Trek IV The Voyage Home last night. My favorite Star Trek movie so far. It's so funny!

We had this fantastic (for Domino's) thin crust Pacific Veggie pizza for dinner tonight. It's got spinach, tomatoes, red pepper, onions, mushrooms and olives with mozzerella, provolone and feta cheeses. It's no Rock Creek Pizza California Garlic Vegetarian*, like we get at my office, mmm, artichoke hearts. But, yeah, it's pretty good for a fast food pizza chain. I think the thin crust is my favorite now too. It's like pizza on a cracker... it's really interesting.

*California Garlic Vegetarian – White sauce, three cheeses, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, fresh tomatoes, red onions, scallions and artichoke hearts.

My niece Danika did something pretty cute last night. I got to my parents' house and she walked to me to say hi and started playing with the top of my shoes. I said, "Hi, Boo-Boo!" She babbled, "Boooo-Boooo!" I repeated what I had said and she did it again. I then said, "Okay, that's just too cute. That's my new name for her."


That Baby walks around in Nana's Ugg boots... she did pretty good, nice and steady and slow. She loved it, so cute!

Whew, okay, it took me almost an hour to post this... I gotta find a faster way! What with uploading videos and uploading and captioning photos on flickr.com for each post.

I think I'm gonna go take a hot shower and lay down, may not get any crochet done tonight... I could SO fall asleep right now. Long week, ya know?

But I gotta tell ya, I'm sure glad I'm home for the weekend (I stay at mom and dad's 2 nights a week, they're closer to my work), I really missed Stu for the past [almost] two days. Nice to know that even if I do crash out early and wake up missing him, I can always shuffle into the living room for some hugs. ♥

Wii Are Familii

So, here I am, on a Sunday afternoon, jammin' out to some Jamiroquai, sipping a coffee drink that I've concocted on the fly. Strong coffee, non-fat powdered milk, Torani raspberry sugar free syrup and a bit of Hershey's chocolate syrup. Mmm! So, let's get started, shall we? You all deserve a good juicy post, since I've been MIA for a while. I hope I still have readers left. Haha. Here we go...




These shamrock pins are easy peasy to crochet and whip up in a jiffy. Just shoved a tiny open safety pin (the head part) through some stitches in the back.

I wanted to make the daughter girl and I some pins for St. Patty's Day, since being in a rush that morning had us making last moment green yarn bracelets before dashing out of the house. I sat down that night and watched a movie with my sis and before I knew it, I had eight of these babies done in less than 15 minutes, easy.

I have already given one to a work friend and another work friend asked for and was given four of these, for her Husband, two children and herself. And yeah, I made these the day of St. Patrick's Day, so I'm a day late and a dollar short, but at least we'll know exactly what we're wearing for green next year! =)

Finally got some pics of That Baby wearing the Plum Pudding booties that I knit for her. Problem is... yep, you guessed it, she's already growing out of them. That's it... no more clothes until she's an adult. From now on she's only getting stuff she can't outgrow for several years... like blankets... and coasters. =P

I'm working on a Tiramisu Baby Blanket for a co-worker who just had a baby. I know, I said I wouldn't be doing blankets for certain people anymore and that I would build up a baby blanket and baby bootie stockpile for just these kind of occasions, but yeah... that hasn't happened. Plus, I just couldn't help myself, I really wanted to make this one. I'm doing a pink body with a brown edging, threaded with pink ribbon.

I celebrated my birthday on the 18th!


Stu sent flowers to my office for my birthday. First time I've ever gotten flowers at work. =) He tried to send flowers our first Valentine's Day, but that didn't work so well. Long story. So, he's been gun shy about trying to send flowers again... but he did. He even picked something with my favorite flower... sunflowers! Thank you, honey!


I came home to this on my computer and presents on my computer desk. Stu gave me slippers, Madagascar & Madagascar 2, he made me some almond bark with sliced almonds and later that week, the pink teri robe he ordered me arrived. Ryn gave me a tiny pillow she made in school and a beta fish that I named Picot.




Stu made me the most fantastic dinner... Honey lemon chicken with almonds, fresh asparagus and dirty beans and rice. It was fan-freakin-tastic! (Can you tell I love almonds? Haha.)

We then went to Stone Cold Creamery after dinner. I had the strawberry blueberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust ice cream. Stu and Ryn had the Brithday Cake Remix.

I got a Joann's gift card from my cousin, Peachy, the following day.

That Baby celebrated her birthday this month too! She's one year old!


That Baby gives me some loves at her 1st birthday party by hugging and nuzzling my leg. She's got her monkey in hand. Man, she's walking all over the place now. How they grow up fast.




I made a ducky cake for Danika to destroy and cupcakes for the guests (to eat, not destroy. =P )

We got her a rolling chimes toy. I thought it would be the perfect toy. Ever since she learned how to crawl, she likes to drag things as she travels, usually her high chair. Then, when she started walking, she drug her foam Winnie the Pooh chair by the ear from one end of the house to the other, grunting and straining the whole way, all the while holding onto only one of my fingers for support. It was hilarious.


She then decided to use the frosting from her birthday cake as paint and to use her cousin, Cameron as a canvas.

I already did a themed coaster for my niece for March. But when I presented it to her, my sister mentioned making a birthday coaster, since my niece's birthday is in March. So, I whipped one up!

We finally broke down and got a Wii, complete with Wii Fit. This console is surprisingly fun. There's definitely something to be said for the interaction required to play. This is the Wii incarnate of me playing golf.

I'm also still pretty busy finding a house, wedding planning, etc. You know the whole "everything we gotta do to get our lives rolling" dance. It's tiring. Le sigh.

Found My Dress!

Sorry kids, I know it's been two weeks since my last post. With wedding planning going on and all the first of the year holidays in my family (Stu's Bday, Mom's Bday, Stu and I's anniversay and our quit smoking anniversary), I've been pretty busy. We also have an appointment to look at a church for the wedding and talk with the bishop, then go to mom's to celebrate Stu's birthday, so I need to try and hurry on this post...

[Almost 24 hours later...] Okay, so that didn't work. Ryn needed help getting Stu's birthday cake out of the cake pan (it stuck) and then it was time to go. So, we'll try this again, haha.



I'm knitting some panels out of old shirts of mine and Stu's for a blanket. This first shirt is Stu's.


I finished these booties for Danika. We haven't put them on her for a picture yet. Stu tried yesterday, but she wanted to eat them instead.

I found my wedding dress!

Sorry, folks, no pics. (And there won't be until after the wedding, can't risk the groom seeing it. But, trust me, it's perfect!)


My mom and I. We just bought my dress just before this lunch... I'm so happy! The owner at the bridal shop gave us a great deal! She showed me a gown that was about to go on clearance for the clearance price. We saved over 150 dollars! I know that doesn't sound like much, but being that my wedding has a low budget, this dress looks like it could easily be $1,000 and I got it for under $400!

Stu turned 30...ish.


I'm a paparazzi! Here we've spotted the mastermind behind the famous World of Warcraft character Deekow! We came across him in a local mall doing some shopping for his birthday! This is a rare treat, considering that Stu doesn't come out from behind his Kow mask very often!


We went birthday shopping and he got the last Slipknot CD that he needed, he now has them all. We went to Los Berto's, where they have the most killer nachos in the world! Then, it was of to the mall to buy the Killer Bunnies card game. (Then I took him to get a massage.) That night we had cupcakes.

Saturday we went to Mom and Dad's to celebrate Stu's birthday with them.


Ryn made it all by herself. Lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. Mmm! (Stu kept claiming that he was 30, so that's what she wrote on the cake.)

Then Stu gets this. Stu's friend moved over to his server on World of Warcraft and sent Stu this text message while we were at my parents'. Stu showed it to me and said, "Honey, we have to go home... NOW!"

Oh yeah... and I went red again... I missed it. (Notice my waves/curls? That's all me! For a long time I didn't even know I had it, lol.)

This was HILARIOUS! On the way out to mom and dad's, we saw this horse head pop out of a sunroof. He was whipping his head back and forth and bouncing left and right. We then figured it was most likely a pony on a stick toy. Hahahahaha!
