Tina Is Awesome.

I have a reader named Tina. She is always commenting on my posts. This lets me know that someone is still reading my blog... and I love her for it. Thanks, Tina!

And, yes, dandelion is bitter. I don't think I'll do that again. But, I tried and that's what counts!

Tangerine Tiffany

Tangerine Tiffany
I made these cupcakes for a party tonight where our friend, who makes beer, is premiering his cupcake beer. They are white cake flavored and colored with orange jello topped with Tiffany blue vanilla mousse. Yum!

Little Miss really likes when my yarn tickles her foot as I crochet. She sits next to me and puts her foot on my leg.

Couldn't you just die over these curls?!?!

Backyard Fun

Little Miss and I have never gone into the back yard since we moved here. Today we ventured out to the great beyond and had a blast!

This tiny slug in our yard was only about as long as a dime is wide! So cute!

Smelling a flower... with her tongue.

"Kitty!"
We made a new friend when he visited our yard. Morgana followed him around everywhere until he finally settled under a small tree and Mo would have pet him all day if I had let her.

Gonna have dandelion salad tomorrow.

First bowl of Cheerios with milk!

How many one year olds do you know that are more than happy to sit still next to Mommy on the couch, sip water/juice and watch Wall-E?

Have hat, scarf, purse, keys, will travel. The scarf is actually a blanket swatch that I knit. This way, it doesn't go to waste!

Little Miss's sandals kept falling off her heels... There's nothing a little knit or crochet can't fix.

Once a week I have a chocolate microwave mug cake. This time, it has chopped Andes mint chocolate in it! Can't wait!

I just had to make her a sling, too!

I made Mo her own mei tai today from some polar fleece so she can wear her baby.

She Likes It!

Homemade Mei Tai = Happy Baby
She likes it! I'm so glad. She was not pleased with all the other contraptions (wraps and carriers) I've tried to do back carries with in the past. Her legs actually fall below the leg padding I put in, but she didn't indicate that she was uncomfortable at all, so I think it's fine. This is, by far, the most comfy back carrier I've ever tried. I used the FrankenKozy pattern. www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/FrankenKozy.htm

She thinks it's great for eating Goldfish crackers in while Mommy trucks around the house...

Our New Mei Tai!

My First Sewn Mei Tai!
It's finally finished!!! I tried making a mei tai a while ago out of different fabric and it was a disaster.

My sewing machine at the time could not handle the shoulder strap pleats. My current (better) machine could not handle me doing padded shoulder straps with what little fabric I had left for the straps.

But, the new machine plus pleated straps equals success!!! I'm so happy with it and can't wait until Little Miss wakes up from nap so we can try it out!

There are of course a few mistakes (asthetic only, I would not compromise the safety of my child by ignoring mistakes in things that make the carrier safe!), but it's only my first one!

I even added some padding around the leg and back areas to provide added comfort for my Little Miss. I hope she likes it!

Thanks to my knitting sista friend, Michelle for providing me with the body fabric for free!

Happy Easter!

Went to Tracy Aviary for Easter today. We then walked around Liberty Park so the baby could run free for a bit on the grass. We found a drummer, danced a little and gathered lots of pine cones (which she's holding) and filled one of the stroller saddle bags with them. It's hard to see, but at the beginning, once she tilts her head, she's bouncing just a tiny bit to dance.

My big girl, coloring quietly.

Here's the finished spaghetti salad, sans cucumbers. The cucumbers go on the side, as my hubby is allergic.

Making spaghetti salad today!

My knit group friend, Michelle, ordered a rice pack for a gift and she provided the fabric. When I asked if I could buy the rest of the fabric from her, she told me to just keep it. Yay! I'm gonna start a new mei tai for Momo today! The one I was working on went all wrong and then I ran out of strap fabric. But, I have some fabric for the straps that will match nicely!

I just bought a bird feeder and put it outside our living room window, right where Mo can *ahem* stand on the couch and see them pretty close! Looks like our cherry tree is blossoming too!
