"Mama, you wan' take a picture for my garden?"

The progress on Morgana's mermaid tail. I haven't decided if this is how I want to keep it folded.

Morgana really enjoyed helping set the dinner table yesterday. As soon as I started dinner today, all I kept hearing was, "Mama, I wan' set da table wiv you!" until Stu went to get her to set the table.

Well, really didn't do anything else today besides typing GGMa's journals and putting away laundry. Good night.

Tails, Sprouts & Bread

IMG_4125
So, I started crocheting Morgana's mermaid tail last night. Used up the whole ball of yarn that I got in one night. Now I have to wait until Sunday to get another ball. Booooooo! I'm so excited to make it that waiting is going to be hard.

Here's some more sprouts from our garden. I think-- I think these are the cucumbers... and not weeds... I hope. They don't look like any of the other weed sprouts coming back up. We planted mint today.

Made banana bread today.............. That's all I have to say about that......... Oh, and that it's delicious, as always.

I forgot to post this picture on Sunday. This is Midnight Blue and Nail Junkie, both by Sinful Colors. GGMa bought them for me when we visited her in St. George. I love them!

I also washed a big box of clothes for Mo that my sister got rid of from her kids. Thank goodness! I'm running out of shirts that fit over Mo's head and cover her belly completely! Luckily, her long pants that she's outgrown can now be capris. She's gotten taller and her head has grown, but all her bottoms still fit her waist and most of her shirts still fit her arms.

Morgana went potty mid-day, so she got to wear her big girl panties for the 15 minutes. She even told me that she had to go potty while wearing them, so we rushed to the potty and she went again! So proud! She went potty again after dinner and asked to wear her big girl panties again. I told her it was okay with me, but she had to ask Daddy. (The deal was anytime she went potty before dinner, she could wear them.) Stu said it was okay, so she wore her big girl panties while we played Go Fish, no accidents.

Stu and I also talked about going to Comi-Con here in Salt Lake City. What days we'd like to go, how to work it out, about taking Morgana along. Jonathan Frakes is going to be there. He played Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I would really like to meet him. I LOVED that series in High School! Also, you may or may not know that Stu and I have been watching all of the Star Trek series and movies together for several years. We're watching Enterprise now.

I did some typing on GGMa's journals and tried to catch up on folding laundry.

Tonight, I'd like to finish that folding, knit and watch some Angel.

Cookies & The Doctor

IMG_3607.jpg
I made my oatmeal raisin cookies. They are so good!

IMG_1595.jpgIMG_5259.jpgIMG_8037.jpg
Little Miss loves them!

Mo read a book to a baby in the doctor waiting room today. She put a piece of sticker in her nose last night, so she had to go in.

Me and Teen Miss have also gone in this week. I won't say what Teen Miss went in for, that's her business. I went it because I had a brief episode of aphasia Wednesday night. I have to go in again Monday. That's all I'm going to say because not even my mother knows that something happened yet, lol.

I'm still working on the dragons for Christy. I got sick right before she left for her out of country vacation, then I procrastinated, then I had my "episode" and have been trying not to stress.

I'm on track for my calorie intake today. When I had the aphasia the other night, it was a wake up call that I really need to get serious about taking care of myself.

Tomorrow, Morgana and I are going to have our monthly sleepover at Nana and Papa's. Excited!

Have a great weekend!

Hoppin' Down The Bunny Trail

My friend, Christy, has asked me to crochet her two baby dragons; one for her daughter and one for her daughters friend. Morgana and I walked to a Smith's Marketplace today to get the yarn for them. I started the first one. The yarn is thinner than I had anticipated. I told Christy and offered to get a different yarn, crochet thread, to be exact. But, she says she's okay with the dragons being smaller than Morgana's.

I've been watching The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan on Netflix. That guy is awesome! I've watched episodes here and there since the show started, but it never ceases to amaze me how he helps transform dogs and their owners.

Stu and Kate picked up their new glasses today. They both look great! And hopefully, soon, I won't need glasses or contacts anymore. Stu has surprised me with a screening appointment on Monday for lasik surgery for my birthday!

Morgana only went on the potty once today. She's still sitting on the potty several times a day, but hasn't hone on the potty for several days.

Yesterday, I finished crocheting this little bunny for a co-worker of Stu.

So, So Long

Oh my heavens! I haven't blogged in SO long!

IMG_3303
I crocheted these puppies for my 2 nieces and one for Morgana. This was one of all the WIPs that I have a goal to finish before I start any new personal projects. Projects for profit don't count. I have started and finished a couple very small personal projects, but have none in process right now.

IMG_3305
Here's the most recent pic of my ruana jacket. I'm waiting to buy more yarn... again.

IMG_3307
Here's my shrug (Speckled Shrug pattern by Lion Brand). Two more skeins to go!

IMG_3309
The SweetLoops doll. She has some hair now.

IMG_3312
This granny square throw is another one of my WIPs. It's been hibernating for a long time.

IMG_3213
I sewed this mei tai as a gift for my friend, Megan, who is due with her first baby in April.

IMG_3265
Little Miss is always so gracious to help me test a new mei tai.

IMG_3344
With some of my tax return spending money, I got all the fixins to do sculptured acrylics. I love them! They take a long time. My first set took me two hours. I'll get better and faster with practice.

I crocheted Little Miss a baby dragon!

I made cinnamon churro cupcakes yesterday. Delish!

Morgana and I walked to the library today. We haven't done that since late summer, early fall. She had so much fun in all the different play rooms. This one is the glacier room.

IMG_3412
Here she is playing in the barn room.

It's so great that the children's section of our city library has places to play for the kids. It's a great alternative to playing outside during the cold and winter.

I got a request today from one of Stu's co-workers for an amigurumi bunny similar to Morgana's dragon. I'm excited to make it!

I've been hooked on RuPaul shows lately; Drag Race and Drag U. Those lady-boys actually inspire me to want to take the effort to make myself more pretty.

To catch up on everything else, visit my flickr photos.

See you soon (I hope)!

Tuesday 11/6/12

Stu is in Atlanta, Georgia for two weeks for training for his job. It's really weird without him here. But, we all get to see him on webcam in the evenings.

Today, I cleaned and mopped the kitchen and dining room. I have hopes to have time to knit myself some slippers and get all the backed up clean laundry folded. But, I have to see if I have time later as I currently have paid work from my Grandmother to type her journals.

I am gently night weaning Mo from nursing during the night. Last night was night two and went quite a bit better than the first night. The first waking the first night, when I unlatched her before she fell asleep, she cried for about an hour, begging to nurse and crying so hard she was uncontrollably gasping. =( I just kept holding her, stroking her and reassuring her that I was still there. Last night, her wakings were very short and much less dramatic. =) I'm using a gentle method from Dr. Jay Gordon found online.

This week, I hope to make some pumpkin muffins or cookies. I bought extra pumpkin grocery shopping yesterday too as I think I'd like to make two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving at my parents' this year. It'll be much cheaper than my usual pumpkin roll. (Sorry, Dad.) I need to call Mom today and tell her that's what I'll bring!

Below, is a better picture of the witch hat I crocheted for Mo for Halloween.
