Going to the zoo!

We went to the zoo a couple weeks ago. It was cold, but fun!
Danika had fun running around when she wasn't in her stroller.

In other news...
I got a new haircut!
Stu had a hard time adjusting to this, he loves long hair with a passion. But he did say it was cute and called me pretty lady the day I had it done.
Ryn got a haircut too!
I've been playing with my Konad kit again. Geez, I can never get a clear, good pic of my nails anymore!
Here's my new reading glasses. My knitting group friend, Michelle, bought these reading glasses for me after she heard my eye doctor said I should be using them when reading and knitting so my eyes can relax. (My knitting friend Jennifer explained that he probably said that because my prescription is so strong for seeing far away that my eyes have to work harder to see up close. Makes sense to me.) I love these glasses! They're PINK!!!
On a sad note, my dad's mom passed from cancer last week. My dad had made four rings for my grandma and she wanted each of us girls to have one. We got to pick oldest to youngest (I'm second oldest). I picked this turquoise ring. It's beatiful. I'm doing fine, but she will be greatly missed. I've been more worried about my dad. I hope he gets through this okay.
Not much news in knitting, except I tried knitting a bulky poncho in one Sunday... took more like a week and a half and I haven't even finished it yet but I decided to frog it. Such a shame it didn't turn out better, I really loved the idea!
Reference my facebook status for an explanation: "Dear Big, Bulky, Cabled Poncho That I Gave Up Knitting Because You Drape Horribly, Stretched Way Too Much And The Bottom Portion Of Your Cable Waggles Around In An Outward Direction Like A Weiner Made Of Yarn: I hate you. ♥ Me" Hubby's comment on this status update: "And yet, a weiner made of yarn would be a dream come true for you." AHAHAHA! Nice
