Amigurumi Fever & Love In The Spring

Photo Album and Knit & Crochet Photos updated!

Ami Wedding Couple
I'm crocheting this little amigurumi wedding couple for Stu and I's wedding reception table. Hope I can make them resemble us! I know I'm not exactly blonde at the moment, but hope to be by the wedding.

Kinda freaked Stu out when I held a skein of yarn up to his goatee and said, "Yes, that'll work just fine." He asked, "What's that all about?" I said, "Oh, I'm just making a voodoo doll, honey, nothing to worry about."

And doing that, led to this...

Strawberry Hello Kitty
I made this one for a friend in my knit group, Michelle, for her birthday.

This was a last minute afterthought being that I already was making cupcakes for her. I started the day before I would see her.

I managed to make it at the meeting, in front of her, with her thinking I was making it for myself and convinced her to stay long enough for her to see how it would turn out. She kept saying how adorable it was. When I was done, she thought it was so cute that she wanted to take a picture, so I let her. Then I took my pics (cuz I wouldn't be able to after giving it to her), then I surprised her and gave it to her. She squeeled with delight, "Are you serious?!?!"

...and I'm doing another amigurumi project as we speak. I can't stop! They're so cute, so fast-- and so addictive, ugh.

Bride dress up!

Bride Dress Up!
Here, I'm on my way Christy's on Monday to practice my hair and try on all my bridal attire to make sure everything works, fits and looks how it should.

I had no idea she lived in the sticks, haha!

Sorry, no pics-- can't ruin the surprise. =P Don't worry, you'll see me as a bride soon enough... only about a month left until the wedding!

Ryn's Spring Choir Concert
Ryn had her Spring Choir Concert on Tuesday. She did good! Sorry, the pic is so blurry, I had too much too drink before we got there. Of course I'm kidding! Geez!

Well, since I didn't show you any bridal pics, I guess I can try to make up for it by showing you pics of what was my top secret baking project last week!

Lego Cupcakes!
I was so excited to make these for my knitting group friend, Michelle (the same one who got the Strawberry Kitty above). Her and her husband love Legos!

The Legos are made with candy melts in a silicone Lego ice tray ordered from amazon.com. I think the tray is discontinued on the Lego website.

That's not Scentsy!

That's Not Scentsy!

That's Not Scentsy!
No, it's ScentSationals! Walmart has these scented wax bars for under $3, when Scentsy sells them for $5 a bar. Granted, they don't have all the same scents, but they are just as strong and yummy! I just barely put this one in the warmer and just having it out of the package you could smell it from a good distance!

Ryn wants to eat it and Stu thought I was making cookies until he figured out that the smell was coming from the Scentsy warmer, haha! We all LOVE this cupcake scent! YUM-O!

Engagement Photos!

Stu and I got our engagement photos done yesterday. I can't stop looking through them all. I love them.

These are just some "behind the scenes" shots, as we don't want to spoil the photos we will display on our guestbook table at the wedding. Stu said he wanted to be in charge of getting the photo display done. I'm excited to see what he comes up with!

And a big thank you to my Dad for taking all the photos ♥ (and Ryn for being photog caddy to my Dad by carrying props and my make-up ♥).

We all had so much fun-- it was a really good day.

(Doesn't that damp spot on the wall behind us look like a butterfly? Awww!)

Stu and I are on a Sci-Fi kick lately. Since we saw the new Star Trek movie, we're now watching everything Star Trek, starting with the original series on TV.com. Plus, we've finally got our hands on the first disc of season 4 of Battlestar Galactica. Speaking of, I'm gonna go cuddle up with Stu to watch Battlestar right now! Yay!

Much love! ♥

It's Been A Fat Weekend Folks!

...with sweets, that is.

Photo Album and Knit & Crochet Photos updated!

Scrappy Tuesdays
I work on this one when I stay at my parents’ Tuesday nights. And I did one motif on Thursday night. That's the extent of my needlework updates this week.

I'm taking out and redoing the border on each square by adding one more pattern round in black. The square edges weren't bulky looking enough for me (as seen here). I wanted the black to take up more space.

Moving on...

Ryn's 13 now!!!

Ryn's 13th Birthday Cake!
The sign says it all. I hung this on a sheet that was over the kitchen entry for probably at least sixteen hours. (That counts sleep time.)

Ryn's 13th Birthday Cake!
The first piece of fondant for the cake. Can you guess what it is?

Ryn's 13th Birthday Cake!
Here's Stu, helping smooth out cracks in the fondant of the cake. He was such a sweetie, he even ran out to get more frosting when he noticed I didn't have enough to crumb coat the cake before putting on the fondant.

Ryn's 13th Birthday Cake!
Girly skull cake in her favorite colors, black and purple, made by yours truly. My first time doing fondant. I even made all the letters out of white chocolate. She loved it though.

Ryn's 13th Birthday Cake!
When it was finished, Stu said, "Tim Burton would be proud, honey."
Weee! That's a good compliment!

Ryn's 13th Birthday!
When we brought it out to sing to her, she said, "It's so pretty!"

Ryn's 13th Birthday!
"Mom! Take a picture of my purple tongue!"
I don't know why... teenagers are weird.

I also finally ventured into making cake pops! Oh! For cryin' out loud! How exciting!
Instructions on Bakerella's blog.

Girly Skull Cake Pops
I made these with the trimmings from making Ryn's cake. Stu called them poop balls at this stage.

Sucker Stand
Made this out of cardboard to hold the cake pops, since I didn't have any styrofoam laying around. I got this and two cake boards out of the same box.

Sucker Stand
I just shoved a steak knife into the cardboard to make Xs to hold the pops. Good for getting out frustrations, not that I have many frustrations right now, so I just enjoyed killing a box.

Just be careful not to get your hand on the other side. No, I didn't stab myself-- Really! I seriously didn't... surprising, I know.

But, I did manage to whack a chair, head on, into one of my toenails setting up for Ryn's birthday party... now my cuticle is blue... dunno about my toenail... I have polish on my toes and don't wanna take it off to see. Dad says, "Hey, they're called shoes." I say, "But I'm a flat-footed pixie and we don't wear shoes." But, you know Little Miss Klutz had to have an injury soon, I was long overdue. And yes, I was lecutred by Stu, don't worry.

A-NY-WAY!

Girly Skull Cake Pops
So, of course I kept with the girly skull theme of Ryn's birthday cake. Stu said, "They taste like Chocodiles." Which means, "I love them."

I definitely need the decorations recommended for doing cake pops, it's hard decorating with candy melts.

Girly Skull Cake Pops
The "girls" to the right never got faces. One, because the decorating wasn't turning out so well and two, because I had already spent A LOT of time in the kitchen this weekend.

And, I also worked on another baking project today-- but for now, it's...

Friday Fill-In!

Friday Fill-In Blog:

"This week, I chose quotes having to do with spring...as always when I do this, feel free to fill-in whatever you'd like; it's more fun that way! Of course, if you know the quote, feel free to fill that in, too! The quotes will be on my blog, should anyone want to see what they are.

And...here we go!"

1. If we had no winter, I would be forever crabby because summer is too hot .

2. How well women can multitask a perpetual astonishment.

3. If I had my life to live over I would've found my fiance sooner.

4. Give me more time to knit, crochet, bake and spend time with loved ones inside of four and twenty hours.

5. If you've never been thrilled about yarn, you're crazy.

6. To be interested in the changing seasons is natural.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing my honey, I wasn't feeling well when I was home last and slept almost the whole night. We miss each other. Also, making Ryn's birthday cake... hope it leaves everyone in awe, I'm trying something new, tomorrow my plans include having Ryn's birthday party, then taking her and one of her firends to dinner and a movie and Sunday, I want to see another movie with Stu and Ryn!

Mother's Day

Photo Album and Knit & Crochet Photos updated!

My Mother's Day
It's a mooning Care Bear!

Today for Mother's Day, I got a quick treat cookbook and pink duct tape from Ryn. Then from Stu, I got a new computer monitor (YAY!) and a black pajama t-shirt that says "MOM" in hot pink, with a crown over the O. Later bought me some white skimmer flats and a Beatles hits CD from Walmart on the way to see my Mom.

They both put together (and served me in bed) a breakfast of sausage and mushroom quiche (YUM-O!) with a Starbucks chai chocolate truffle. I love chai.

They made two quiches, so we took one to my mom.

Thanks, Honey & Ryn, love you! ♥

Yes, she put the hat on this way on her own.

I also got Ryn's tiny ami bunny finally done today!

I'm now going to see if I can weasel some back tickles from Stu while I fall asleep. You always gotta try and milk one last thing for Mother's Day, right ladies?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Mother's Day Eve

Photo Album and Knit & Crochet Photos updated!

Seedy Shrug
I finished my seedy shrug in the car today while we drove around looking for a place to rent. And, yes, I put it on right when I was done. =P I'm a bit displeased about the curling at the collar and the bottom. You can't see it here because I straightened it just before taking the pic. I will think twice when using seed stitch in the same manor should I make another like this. I'll see if I can't fix this one somehow.

Seedy Shrug
There's a some curling at the neck on this one... and it's not because I'm shrugging.

May Coaster Work In Progress
I've been working on That Baby's May themed coaster-- also while riding around in the car today. Here's my weekend work desk-- my lap, some yarn, a hook, a notepad and a pen. (But, it's not really work, I enjoy letting my creativity flow.)

Yes, kids, I even write patterns "on the road'

May's Coaster for That Baby
(Frogged back down for rethinking of pattern.) Don't ask me what it is yet, I just crochet what the voices in my head tell me to.

Early Mother's Day
Ryn and Stu gave this live rose inside a balloon tonight as an early Mother's Day gift. Of course, it's pink.

Ryn also got me some flourescent pink duct tape. I have no idea what I'll use it for, but it's so sweet of her to get me anything pink. Pink things do after all amuse me... no matter what they are. I need to get a pic, just for the hell of it.

Those two are so funny, they have the hardest time waiting to give gifts. Stu wanted to pretend it was morning tonight so he could give me my gift(s).

They are so sweet to think of me as a mom and recognize that on Mother's Day. Thanks guys! Love you! ♥

Oh, and if anyone cares, I want these...
