Whoa! Where Did I Go?!?!

Hi, um. Did you miss me? *blush* I apologize to all my faithful readers for being gone for so long... especially those who have voiced thier desperate need for more Pixie blogginess more than once *cough*Michelle*cough*
And yes, the blog has a new look, I got bored, lol.

Okay! *claps* Here we go! Here is what I've been working on lately...

Abagail Sweater
I made this sweater for my youngest sister's newest baby, born in late May. Sorry, I have no pictures of her, I haven't been carrying my camera with me as much anymore. Anyhow, since she's still way too tiny for it, my sister said it would be cool for me to hang onto it until September and enter it in the State Fair! Hope I win... even though first prize is like, 10 bucks or something... I just want the ribbon and bragging rights.

Ripple Blanket
I'm also doing this blanket for the same baby. My sister requested this one in blue and purple. It's a knit ripple, although, I've been knitting a lot and miss crocheting. So, tonight I'm going to start it over as a crochet ripple. (My sister wanted a crochet ripple, then I talked her into a knit ripple because I've never done one, then tonight I asked her if I could do crochet instead. She was very accomodating to this stinker of a sister.)

And the last thing I've been working on that has kept me very tired and kept me from blogging lately...

10 Week Ultrasound
Our little peanut!!! This is our 10 week ultrasound. The doctor ordered this ultrasound early since we miscarried the first time. We wanted to wait until we could see everything was okay before telling everyone, but Stu told my mom (stinker, lol) and a couple other people, then we outed it to my dad at the family renunion for my mom's family and we had him announce it then.

My first thought when I got to see the baby was, "Oh, thank God!" I can't tell you how freaking awesome it is to see a little bean you've created jumping and moving around inside you... especially your first one. And this one is a little acrobat already! Too bad they only got one little jump on the DVD, cuz he/she did a lot more before that. =( I'm due January 12, 2011 and Stu thinks it's a boy. He's never incorrectly predicted the gender of a baby that I know of, lol. He predicted both my nieces, his own daughter and our friends' son... So, we might be having a boy, we'll see.

If I ever figure out how to post the ultrasound video, I will.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...

Stu graduated!!! Yay!!!
Sorry this post is so short, I just really wanted to let you all know that I'm still around (albeit always sleepy cuz I'm making a life, lol) and wanted to share our fantastic news!
Until next time!

Party Over Here!

I'm really not all about the blogging lately... as if you couldn't tell. But, here's a nice little post for you to read...

Mother Day
Ryn painted this apron for me for Mother's Day with my favorite flower... a sunflower. (Thanks to my mom for providing her with the materials.) Stu and Ryn fixed me a breakfast in bed of eggs, hash browns, sausage, blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and an iced mocha... way too much for me to finish, but it was so delicious!

Birthday Girl
Ryn turned 14. Here, she's eating a cupcake and wearing the wristwarmers I knit for her birthday. (Another picture below.) She had some friends over and then two of them spent the night.

Ryn's Birthday Cupcakes
Ryn wanted music notes and rainbows as her birthday party theme. So, I did these. Funfetti (rainbow spotted) cake, vanilla frosting and candy melt rainbows and music notes.

Ryn's Birthday Cupcakes

Hubby's Robe
Stu's robe is done... YAY!!! This thing is a monster and very (overly) warm!

Voodoos
Here's a better picture of the wristwarmers.

Well, I guess that's it... Besides Stu is graduating in June! Woohoo!

Busy, Period.

We went to the MS Walk last week. Well, Ryn and I did. Stu was sick and couldn't go. But, we raised $160 between the two of us.

Other than that, not much going on. Well, besides worrying if there's going to be enough to do at work until we get another wave of busy. They've had to send our team home early this week and scramble for things for us to do. Hopefully they don't have to let anyone go and we get busy again soon. See, I'm doing something different now than what I was hired to do and I love it.

Other than that, just knitting away. I'm almost done with Stu's robe... so close. Then it's on to more baby stuff for other people having babies right now.

Pink Yarn
Michelle gave me this yarn at our last night meeting, yay! It's pink!

Jessica's Cake
We had a mini baby shower at our knit meeting this week. Jessica is expecting her first baby at the end of this month.

I designed this cake for the baby shower. I actually got the idea from the knitting book Itty Bitty Nursery's Circle's and Stripes Stroller Blanket.

Gnome in the Kitchen
And this little food coloring gnome was around to help me make the cake.

Jessica's Mini Baby Shower
Here's the coffeehouse with the decorations. Peachy brought balloons, Michelle brought the flowers on the table, I brought the cake and Sarah brought (not shown here) plates and forks... and even more table decorations.

And of course, I knit/crocheted things for said baby shower...

Beach Baby Blanket
A crocheted blanket...

Spring Baby Headband
...and a knit headband in matching colors! I just love the puffy petals!

In family news, we registered Ryn for the School of Performing Arts earlier this week, WEEEE!!! Also, Stu's graduation is coming up in June. How exciting!

It's So Quiet

There isn't a whole lot going on lately... except Stu had an interview with PC Laptops... and then a second interview... and then he didn't get it. We were so bummed. =( Please wish him luck in any future job hunting. He's graduating soon and will be looking full time very soon.

I've done lots of Konadicures lately. Just wish I could find a way to make them last longer than a couple days, especially cosidering that some designs are time consuming. I've been looking for Nailene Acrylic Strong topcoat, I think that's the name. I saw it on the Nails by Asami blog, she loves it. But, I haven't found it yet.

A peek at some of my recent Konadicures...

My Nails

My Nails
Silver tips with aqua Konad flowers.

My Nails
I ordered some new Konad plates with birthday money from my grandpa. I got classic french plates (which I did not use here, they're too short) a french plate with lots of different designs (like this bow). I also got a plate with several different animals on it... including this cow on my married finger. I got this plate just for the cow on it... for Stu. (Don't pay any attention to my dry cuticles. >.< )

My Nails
So, I broke the same nail, twice in one day! Soooo, I cut my nails. But, they still look so cute with these white tips with black Konad checker print, which is also on one of my new french plates.

I Heart Aloe
Just a funny... cool, thing. I use Aloe Vera gel as a facial moisturizer and when I squeezed it out of the bottle one morning... it was a heart!

Just Me
Just me. I took some new pics... for fun.

In needlework news...

Flower Medicine Cabinet Knobs
The only news I have is that I crocheted these flower knob pulls for our bathroom medicine cabinet. I got tired of the mirror supports falling out that I substituted for the ones that didn't exsist when we moved in. Maybe I'll write a pattern!

Well, I have more laundry to fold and more crocheting to do before the night is over.

Another Birthday, A Little Me & A Little Yarn

So, That Baby turned 2 this week... and I made her something...

That Baby's 2nd Birthday

That Baby's 2nd Birthday
Oh! What is it?!?! The suspense is killing me!!!

That Baby's 2nd Birthday Bear
A teddy bear! This is the one I was knitting from Itty Bitty Nursery. She got so excited when she saw what was in the gift bag and repeatedly exclaimed, "Tay-ee Bay-o! Tay-ee Bay-o!"

That Baby's 2nd Birthday Bear
Awww. Givin' the bear loves...

That Baby's 2nd Birthday Bear
...And showing papa her bear.

Beauty In An End
My birthday tulips from my sister, Brandi, are losing their petals, but they are still so beautiful.

This Is Me?
Ryn said she bought me in a coin machine the other day. Not bought FOR me... bought ME, literally. (But, she did give this to me to keep.)

Daughter Knits
Ryn is knitting herself a scarf to go with the wrist warmers she knit for herself! Thanks to my knit meeting friend, Jessica, for teaching her how to do seed stitch.♥ I love Ryn's choice of texture combination here. I'm really proud of her for being willing to learn something new. I know that can be intimidating for beginners, but the rewards are so worth it.

My Nails
My most recent Konadicure didn't turn out quite how I planned. The pink was more... mauve, than the shocking, bright pink it is in the bottle. But, it's still cute, I guess.
